Ode to the Snoqualmie River
I’ve lived all my life within your reach,
soothed by your hum, your rush,
your music of moving.
I’ve watched you rise, widen, breach
your banks, then pull back into yourself—
your great inhale.
But where your riffling current
trades shapes with the sky—this
is where I’m found.
