Home Again
That first bus ride after moving
back to Washington, I cooed over
everything, enraptured.
The brick of King Street Station
seeming folkloric, enchanting.
Oceanic firs blurring by windows,
a symphony of light.
Even the pigeons seemed elegant,
profound. This is what comes
from loving a place: you see
beauty everywhere.
