Gallery4Culture 2006-2007 Season
Arts Parts: Artist Made Building Parts™ Registry Artists November 2 – December 1, 2006
reception NOVEMBER 2, 2006, 6 – 8 p.m.
Gallery4Culture is pleased to present work by 23 regional artists that are represented through 4Culture's on-line registry for Artist Made Building Parts™.
The artist registry is comprised of 42 established and emerging artists from Oregon and Washington states who can enliven the built environment through aesthetic expression. Available on-line at www.4culture.org/publicart/registry, this resource was established in 1992 for architects, designers and builders to commission unique functional objects such as handmade doors, railings, or light fixtures. Artists can also be selected to create unusual surface treatments, provide ornamental detailing, or design and build beautiful interior or exterior furnishings. This is a rare opportunity to see the work of many of the finest artists and craftspeople working in the region.
The 23 artists included in this exhibition are Phillip Baldwin, Leo Berk, Matt Cartwright, Wayne Chabre, Maria Cristalli, Cheryl dos Remedios, Carla Grahn, Karen Guzak, Tina Hoggatt, Eric Kaster, Melissa Koch, Jim Kraft, Yuki Nakamura and Craig Miller, Ries Niemi, Erin Shie Palmer, Peter Reiquam, Mauricio Robalino, Anne Storrs, Cappy Thompson, Ashley Thorner, and Jean Whitesavage and Nick Lyle.
A reception will be held on November 2, 2006, the first Thursday of the month, during the Downtown Artwalk, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend. The exhibition will run from November 2 – December 1, 2006.
